Accreditation and Program Approval

Accreditation

  • St. Lawrence University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
  • St. Lawrence University's  undergraduate and graduate-level Teacher Education Program, which is designed to prepare students for initial and/or professional teaching cerification in New York State and all reciprocating jurisdictions, is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) for a period of six years from June 30, 2007 to June 30, 2013.   Achievement results of the University's program completers are available on the TEAC website and  on the website of the University's Office of Institutional Research.
  • The University will seek re-accreditation by TEAC of its Teacher Education Program in 2013.
  • In compliance with recent New York State regulations, the University will seek accreditation by TEAC of its Graduate Program in Educational Leadership in 2013.

Program Approval and Registration

  • In compliance with New York State regulations, all of St. Lawrence University's undergraduate and graduate-level certification programs in teaching, counseling, and educational leadership are approved and registered by the New York State Education Department.
