Dr. Kyle E. Blanchfield
Kyle Elizabeth Blanchfield, J.D., for the past seven years, has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Education in St. Lawrence University’s Graduate Leadership Program. She teaches Education Law, Conflict Resolution, Leadership and School Violence and Leadership and School Climate. She is also the Executive Director of the Northern New York Centers for Conflict Resolution which covers the entire northern region of New York State. She is the former President of the New York State Dispute Resolution Association and also a former Justice Court Judge. She has specific skills in the leadership and management area and has been involved in resolving many labor management disputes. Her talents also include being a liaison and mediator between government agencies especially government agencies in Canada and First Nations Tribes and she has received numerous grants over the years to this end. Also, she has been an adjunct assistant professor at SUNY Canton where she taught an on-line legal research course for their paralegal program. During 2007-2008, she was helping the Honorable Timothy Rowley, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, establish a fully functioning Family Court and Juvenile Court for the Pennsylvania Court System. Her scholarly activities have included numerous books and articles in leadership, conflict resolution, and the law. In 2007, she published the book Conflict Resolution for Law Enforcement: Street Smart Negotiating. Flushing, NY: Loose Leaf Law Publications, and in 2013, she will publish Leadership, Violence and School Climate, Lanham, MD: Rowman & Littlefield Education. In 1995, she won the New York State Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding contributions to leadership, mediation and conciliation. She is also a former Board Member of the College Council, SUNY Canton — the governing body of a New York State University System.
