At St. Lawrence

Major:
Canadian Studies and History

St. Lawrence’s Canadian Studies Program interested me from the moment I had the option to join it as part of my first-year program.  Having a keen interest in U.S. history and literature,  Professors Forkey, Jockel, and Thacker’s course offerings gave me a great insight to the dovetailed histories and literatures of North America.

As a student, I was able to learn the interwoven histories of the U.S. and Canada firsthand, traveling to Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec, as well as making my way across Canada by train on a class fieldtrip to experience the Canadian West with a group of my fellow students.

After Graduation

I spent the past eight seasons working in professional hockey as an intern, goaltender, public relations executive, and broadcaster. I spent a memorable year in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, broadcasting games from the same rink where the famous movie Slapshot was filmed. The last three seasons have seen me move to Biloxi, Mississippi, where I’ve been the director of broadcasting for the ECHL’s Mississippi Sea Wolves and the SPHL’s Mississippi Surge.

I will be attending the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, this August to pursue a Juris Doctor, and hope to move into management in professional sports after law school.
