Ms. Lyndsay E. LaBarge `10
At St. Lawrence
I entered St. Lawrence University my freshman year wanting to work in Orthodontics and immediately took General Biology and General Chemistry throughout my first year. As a sophomore I enrolled in Genetics with Dr. Mike Temkin and really enjoyed the course work as well as the hands on work in the lab. Dr. Temkin soon became my advisor soon after and over the past three years has helped me pursue my academic interests in Biology but as my professional goals of working in higher education and administration.
Throughout my senior year I was able to work on an independent senior year research project with Dr. Temkin encompassing all aspects of my academic interests, Biology, Education and African Studies. Together with the elementary and middle school guidance counselors in the Canton School District I taught three seminars on Health and Fitness in the fall and four seminars on Kenya and its Animals in the spring. The project was a great way to challenge my leadership skills, teaching abilities and see if pursuing a teaching career is something I am interested in for the future.
After Graduation
I will either be attenting Boston University or Boston College for a Master's in Educational Administration with the hopes of returning to a college campus someday to work in admiminstration!
