Dr. Alex Schreiber and six students attend International Congress of Vertebrate Morphology
In the summer of 2010, seven members of the Schreiber-lab traveled 34 degrees south of the equator to Uruguay to present their research findings at the 9th International Congress of Vertebrate Morphology. Six students presented two posters of their work addressing the influence of matrixmetalloprotease enzymes and the sonic hedgehog signaling pathway on intestinal development during amphibian metamorphosis. Alex Schreiber gave an oral presentation addressing the influence of visual and vestibular remodeling on changing larval swim postures during flatfish metamorphosis. Members of the Schreiber-lab study the physiology and endocrinology of vertebrate metamorphosis.
