Life At Arcadia

The usual separation between academic courses and the rest of life doesn't apply at Arcadia (the name of our yurt Village) not because students study all the time, but because learning and life blend so naturally. Human relationship with nature is the topic of study in the Knowing Nature course, so hiking and canoeing might spark new insight for that class. The Natural History course studies the biology and geological landscape around Arcadia and deepens every experience there. What students learn in Natural History may show up in art or writing for the Expression course. And since all students take the same courses, talking about what you are learning in them is as natural as talking about the weather.
