Lorie MacKenzie came to St. Lawrence in July of 2001, where she currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Academic Administration and Director of Summerterm. Lorie graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Hartwick College and earned her master’s degree with distinction from SUNY Potsdam. In her current position, Lorie serves as a member of Dean’s Staff and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of budget planning and for providing effective fiscal management for the division of Academic Affairs. She is also in charge of the planning, implementation & oversight of one undergraduate and two graduate summer sessions at St Lawrence and for ensuring the effective implementation of all administrative processes related to the Academic Dean’s Office. In addition, for the past few years Lorie has taught in the First-Year Program and is most recently team-teaching Rhetoric & Public Speaking. Lorie is also the University Mentor for the Women’s Field Hockey team.

While at St. Lawrence, Lorie has served on several committees, including the Academic Standing Committee, the Retention Committee, the University Advancement Committee, the Recession Response & Planning Task Group, the Strategic Mapping Council, the Middle States Standard I Working Group, the Judicial Appeals Board, the Calendar Committee, the Contemporary Issues Forum Committee, the Assessment Committee, the Core Commitments Committee, the Inauguration Planning Committee, the Phase II Arts Dedication Planning Committee and the Science Center Dedication Committee, along with participating as a member of many University search committees.
